.THIS IS AN ADAPTER, NOT A CONVERTER, so it does not do what I wanted it to.
Not compatible
Unfortunately, this memorandum was not compatible to my tv. It may work for the newer, flat screens.
Doesn't exertion on EMachine or Dell Lat E6400
Both the emachine and the dell promote "TV OUT" from the vga port - however neither manufacture could tell me how to get this cable to work. Others are saying this worked for them - but if you are using an emachine or a Dell Latitude E6400 - its not present to work - despite the assertion from the vendors that the computers/laptops support TV Out from vga...
Don't cheap out - you will have to buy a convert - which I ended up doing. Even with a converter - the signal is dim - for video its not unbearable, but reading text is impossible. My emachine has hdmi out - but my HD TV is over 5 years old and does not have HDMI in - I tried this chain and several others - and I currently have the PC2TV converter that converts the vga out to S-video and RCA - both are hazy... in the end the truth is, its time for a new TV...

I had no problems with this rope. I had to buy a "PC to TV Converter Box" along with this cable for the purpose I was using it for and it worked well with that as well.
DOES NOT Modify PC TO TV VIDEO
Scan the product description!! This product will NOT work with most video cards. I made the mistake of not checking to see if my video carte de visite had TV-out capability, and this product did not work for me. If you want to view your computer on the TV, buy a converter like the Lake PC to TV Converter Box compatible with Windows and Mac (VGA To RCA / VGA To S-Video) (I just bought one and it works like a good-luck piece :)
