If I replace a 2.5A fuse in my dimmer switch with a 5A fuse to prevent it continually blowing - is that bad?

I have a conquer lamp with a dimmer switch that blows frequently, it came with a 2.5A fuse in it. I want to know if I substitute for it with a higher Amp rating will it still be safe for the floor lamp?

Not inescapably but you're kind of taking a risk that the circuit can withstand 5A without burning up.

Can I replace a 5A fuse with a 13A one?

I've opened a kettle be for my 8-track mixer that doesn't work and there's a 5A in there. I only have a 13A fuse so will that work?

Saintly crap. This exact question was asked a couple days ago about putting a 13 amp fuse in a 5 amp circuit. If I were you, I'd insert with what is supposed to be in there. If anything happens to go wrong with your mixer and it shorts, you could possibly
