I don't have a temperature controller for my kiln, so I have marked to control its temperature by turning the kiln on and off at the mains.

And I am using
does your kiln have a cone system? if so buy the cone that will get you to the filch temp. I don't think I've ever seen a kiln that doesn't shut off. it would be very dangerous to just leave any kiln on indefinitely
and do it withought cracking the glass...and making it literally work.
