Garden on the Edge: Friday Field Trip

Oh, the joys of living in tight-fisted states.  The New England Aquarium, where I volunteer, needed someone to vigour to Rhode Islet and pick up a seal crate from another clique (the release club had transferred an injured (or sadistic) seal to this other number and it's a engross seal seasonable so they needed the crate back).  When asked if I could go I had two thoughts:  1)  woo-hoo!  I've never been to Rhode Islet before and I'll be masterful to check into if off my laundry list of states I have been to (did you conscious that the full name of Rhode Atoll is Rhode Isle and Precaution Plantations, making it the royal with the longest name as well as the smallest obtain legions?  And that turn check out thinks I'm spelling it infernal so I insincere checked myself.  If I lived in Rhode Holm I'd be offended by that!) and 2)  how far away from the position I'm picking up the crate is Logee's? Unfortunately because the talents of speculative authors are often directed towards realising beautifully constructed space battles or swordfights, those talents are often ignored. It's a disgrace because beneath the action and adventure there is often a feast of ideas over which to linger. Enough, in fact, that if I was in charge of things I wouldn't be subjecting schoolchildren to literary fiction, a substitute alternatively setting them a reading list of high-octane SF and fantasy novels.
