Delivers what it promises
We had been using another trade name spotlight and they burned out very quickly -- sometimes in just 2 weeks. I bought my first case of these Super Life bulbs about 9 months ago and none of them have burned out since that measure. That's not yet 20,000 hours but it's way better than the other brand. My only comment about these bulbs is that they are a hair less bright and tend to have a bit more yellow or orange in their color spectrum than other bulbs. That's only something you would observe if you looked at them side-by-side and I suspect that it's because the Super Life bulbs have heavier filaments, giving them more durability but also the slightly warmer color. I righteous ordered 2 more cases (we have lots of high-hats in our ceilings) so I can replace the remaining ones.

Jam-packed beautifully
Incontestable to find type of long-life lightbulbs were packed beautifully - otherwise they'd have been in shards. Will gladly use this company again.

BR30 D Light
I don't understand if these really last 20,000 hours but the do last a really long time. My house has very high ceilings and we need to persuade in a ladder to change bulbs. These are great because since installing them over 1 year ago, have not had to change one yet.

New Light Bulb Offers Breakage Protection ConCrave (blog)

In December 2007, Congress—in all of its dazzle (no pun intended)—decided to ban incandescent light bulbs. Starting with an initial phase-out in 2012, with a complete cull completed by 2014, Thomas Edison's wondrous introduction will be no more. Well, with the exception what you can find on the black market .
Out with the old, in with the new, I suppose.
You may have noticed the recent invasion by the horrendously ugly twists of opera-glasses and plastic known as Compact Flourescent Lamps (CFL). These are the government-mandated replacements of our sweetheart incandescent bulbs.
Unfortunately for our health and our environment, CFL bulbs contain vastly higher amounts of mercury than impotent to bulbs, to the point where some municipalities and local governments have banned their disposal in household garbage . Disconnected CFL bulbs can exposure those who come in contact with it to toxic levels of mercury, which is a serious problem in households with children and pets.

I'm all for prudent the planet but those bulbs look terrible , there's an oppertunity out there for some clever person to make some money by making tasteful light shades for those long bulky bulbs.
Morrisons have long life bulbs that are the accustomed shape, they have many different shapes.

The ones I've seen are shaped like a corkscrew but take up the same spaciousness as a regular bulb. I'm switching!

Because they are fluorescent bulbs. They calling off of 5 Watts instead of 100 Watts. It is a power savings with the same amount of light.

Yes you're propitious, it's damn stupid. There are very few shades designed to take energy saving lamps.
Look around the light shops and you can see lots of wonderful designs for inebriated energy bulbs but nothing except the good old paper ball to hide these ugly lights without losing out on the efficiency. The lamps are too big for globule type fittings.
Designers just haven't taken this on board.

Since some of them hold mercury I suggest you phone your local council depot and ask them.

Whats the correct way of disposing of long life light bulbs?
Nov 27, 2007 by christmas_me_merry | Posted in Other - Environment
They keep under control a number of highly toxic chemicals so never dispose of them in your dustbin - instead contact your local congress to see if they have a proper disposal policy, or contact your nearest large DIY store, they should take them back for safe disposal.
