decorative lighting, not for any natural use
I purchased these at the commencement of the summer. Well if you looking for bright lights so you can see at night, these arent the ones. The light barely reaches out of the casing, and what little light hits the ground is very weak. I think these are just for people who want to towards good, but really avoid these solar lights are a waste of time.
Very Poor as a church-mouse Lighting
Although this result is well constructed, it produces very little light. You might be better off with a birthday candle.
Keep
A excessive disappointment. Looks like a quality product, feels like a quality product. Only quandary== in Las Vegas sunshine, lights only useful for 2 hours at night.
Works Excellent!
Works certainly as described. Very nice looking. I'm going to order a second set.
Extinguished an hour after dusk
The solar panel is too midget, or the batteries to weak. There is minimal light from dusk for about an hour after dusk (two if it's been really sunny), and then nothing.
Even when fully on, the lamplight is barely bright enough to see the fixture. Appropriate for marking a pathway, not enough to see other objects in the pathway.

Good things for the garden The Olympian

Others rely on a stronger fix: the Tacoma Harshly & Garden Show, which opens its doors Jan. 27.

“It’s the first big home and garden show in the state, and it’s been going on for 27 years,” said show overseer Jeff Swenson. “We just try to bring people in, get them inspired and give them ideas of what they can do in their home and garden.”

Here are some highlights you won’t thirst to miss.

EXPERT-LED CLASSES

You’ve heard them on the radio. You’ve seen them on TV. Perhaps you even own copies of their renowned books.

And once you get past the whole awkward “I’m one of your biggest fans; you’re my horticultural idol” feeling, sharing the same room with Northwest gardening gurus Ed Hume, Ciscoe Morris and Tidings Tribune gardening columnist Marianne Binetti isn’t nearly as intimidating as you might think. After all, plants are their passion, and they adulation helping people learn how to be better gardeners.

please recommend a set of durable outdoor garden lights?

I am replacing some old 12v outdoor garden lights for a compeer's walkway. They look cheap
and are falling apart after 5-years. I want to replace them with a set of durable ones that look subtle. I am avoiding solar, because they are far too dim and I already have the 12v wiring in place.
I would appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks

Years ago I had Toro make and they worked great, then I switched to solar, and I have been through sets almost once a year.

I am going back to Toro and not using solar.
Solar have some slight designs, but do not last long. It seems that the solar panel always turn cloudy and then it's trash.

Toro is my suggestion. They can be found at any district home improvement and most stores like, Target, Walmart, etc.

I was active to recommend the solar, but you have rejected that idea already. I have them for the past 3 years, no problems. Probably replacing the battery will eschew. But then, you should try to buy new set of solar lights because the set of rechargeable batteries and probably the bulbs together cost more than the cost of the set.

That said, if you already have the wiring in employment, Sears has them on sale this fall. Probably it is too late now but worth the try. I saw them for 75% off, non-solar types. I do not positive where you are, but I would guess the retailer has a uniform sales policy.

Same lights, were slightly more at Loews and Home Depot. But that smidgin extra $$s are not going to crimp my lifestyle. Try anyway.

The Malibu metal series is incredibly good. They usually have a pretty comprehensive display at home improvement stores. You can also sometimes get good deals on them on ebay.

What materials are commonly used for producing outdoor garden lights?

For casing, or for the casting of the manifest product.
So far I seem to see ABS and stainless steel popping up a lot.
I'm wondering, is aluminium commonly used as well as stainless stiletto? and with plastics, is polycarbonate common, or is there another main thermoplastic?
thanks

The two out-and-out things that are going to deteriorate the material is water and sun light. Avoiding easily corroded materials such as stiletto is a good idea. Plastics can be subject to deterioration from UV.

Other than that its cost. Stainless Steel would seem an expensive bodily to buy and manufacture from so I wouldn't expect that to be used much. It doesn't paint too easy either. Aluminium is good as it casts absolutely easy.

Solar garden/outdoor lights, where can I buy them in India(Mumbai or Pune)?

I after the ones that can be put on side walls, can someone tell me a place in Mumbai/Pune where I can buy these ?
I need vendors from India specificall from Mumbai or Pune. Please dont post links to vendors not in the mentioned part.
