Does not take place with a controller
If you're not an au fait in Zwave technology, you may think you're buying a remote control AND an outlet, like hundreds of others on the make available. Not so... This one has no controller with it, you have to buy one separately for around $50. If you already have the appropriate remote carry on -- but if you were planning to steal this up to a ZWave remote that learns from other remotes, as I was, you're screwed. There is no remote. To be fair, in the fine print, it does not say that a obscure is included, but to me, that would be like selling a car without a spare tire -- people's expectations are set by the existing make available.

Best outdoor zwave plug
This is a tangibles device at a good price the only downside is does not store scene info in the device

miserable range
I have not been accomplished to get the zwave signal to travel 30 feet from an outside zwave outlet to this outlet, the limit on this product is terrible.

Works critical
This is the espouse identical outdoor module I have bought. Both seem to work fine. I had the first one out in the rain, snow and ice controlling Christmas lights last winter and it worked without fine kettle of fish. They both seems a little tempermental during programming, but so have all the other z-wave modules I have bought. This one is a bargain.

It Works
This does accurately what it claims to, and does it reliably. Sensitivity (to RF Z-Wave signals) is good, adding it to the network was trivial, the power connector fits under the outdoor cork-cover well, it has a button for local control and a status LED. I've been using it for several months and it has worked perfectly. There's actually not much more you could want from it.

What is the best type of outdoor security lighting for a home.?

We existent close to a major road that gets quite a bit of foot traffic. Now we keep our property dark at end of day and have a motion detecting flood light. We've been told that the exterior should be illuminated. My concern is that if the outfit is lit up at night...things like patio furnature, bikes and skate boards will be visible...and therefore more of a goal.

You may want to light the yard area with an all night light and use the going detector type nearer the house. This would deter someone from walking across the property to see what you have to offer.

*Daylight (intense blue-white light - 6500 degrees Kelvin) - ripping for outdoor security. It actually causes the brain to increase seratonin production creating a mild calmative impress. This may help reduce aggressive behavior close to home. It works.
*Daylight - great for garage/reading/library/work areas.
*Full Spectrum (all colors of the rainbow - natural outdoor light) - best for these areas, because it increases proficiency to see details (color contrast depth).

I have a basement windown with a degree to fit a cord. But are there any outdoor outlets for lights you can install easily to your home?

Yes, I have to do the same item. The solution is to have an electrician run a line and install a weather-proof outdoor outlet.

The only way around the problem is to do what we're doing, run weatherproof range cords from the basement. In my case, it actually works very well.
