Customer Reviews

Not an auto-switch
It doesn't indeed mention it on this page, but it clearly states on the packaging and in the manual that this will not automatically switch sources. You need to persuade a button on the unit or the remote.
Solid for the price... but not enough for the use
the prices is solid, the quality of the product is good, it has a very friendly interface. But, there is a problem given the power is taken from the HDMI documentation, when I try to run my digital set-top box alone it doesn't work. this is solved when I power on my PS3, but that is not the idea. I don't know if this is solved if we plug the dc power (not supplied). But if it is a must perchance included in the original package.

Ultimately I Bought A Perfect Switch
I purchased this by-product because my Yamaha V663 receiver is limited to two HDMI connection and output to the TV . I want my philips dvd, bluray and ps3 to join directly to my receiver. I tried using the Monoprice Brand with 4 port hdmi and nothing works. I called monoprice support and told that I have need of to purchase different gauge of hdmi. I have three 1.5 ft hdmi and one 3ft hdmi. I think that should not be a problem. Conclusively, I purchase this Iogear product. WOW, what a wonder no problem at all , no problem on the video and audio, no problem on the switch where you can see a country-like blinking when it switch, easily configure to my logitech 880 remote. This is perfect I am so happy now.
Masterly Solution
Only had two slots on my plasma, needed to wad in dual-tuner DVR, blu-ray player, and Roku HD video player. Super easy set-up; no a/c required, dainty little remote, can be manually switched on the unit itself. Great price and quality. Perfect 10. One note: it is fluorescence as a feather so unless you anchor it down, it ends up wherever the tension in the HDMI cables push it.
Famous Product with a budget price
This is a influential HDMI switch.I mainly use it to connect my PC through a VGA to HDMI converter and still give great picture and sound through my HDTV from PC.I connected my Verizon fios receiver and it also think up true hdmi picture and sound with no disturbances.Best thing is that I don't have to even use a power adapter. It Is basically a close up it and go device. The remote comes with the device is great and I can switch between my pc and verizon receiver with ease.I think for xbox and ps3 you have to get a power adapter as the artifice systems draw too much power. You can get one of those from ebay for may be $5.It has 3 hdmi port so I can connect my pc,cable receiver and xbox.If you demand to connect a DVD player just buy a hdmi splitter or you should check for a 4 port hdmi switch. But that is not necessary as I make light of my DVD through my pc or xbox.

2010: The Year of the Mac? PC World

It's almost a plaintive assertion: This year, the Mac will break out of its ghetto and become a mainstream computer for individuals and businesses alike. That unfulfilled order is foretold every year and has been since the mid-1980s, when Apple's then-groundbreaking computer was quickly sidelined by the IBM P and, later, Microsoft Windows.

So will 2010 be any particular? Is it just Mac fans pining for validation who will claim that this year is the year of the Mac? Maybe, but there are signs that this antiquated they may be right. However, there are also signs that they're wrong -- again.

Let me be clear: I've long had a love/hate relationship with Apple and the Mac. I use a Mac as my preferred PC, but only after I first tried Windows Vista . For most of the decade, I was an XP owner, and in the 1990s I was bi-platform, a Macworld editor whose history had been on the PC side and who had issues with Apple's extreme arrogance (a mark that endures undiminished today), as well as the mediocre quality of its 1990s-era Macs . But even in the dark times, I embraced the Mac's more soul design quality, and when Apple resurrected itself in the 2000s, I cheered it on.

Where can I buy a KVM Switch with DVI support and full USB support for a Logitech G7 mouse and G15 keyboard?

I'm looking for a 2 or 4-refuge KVM switch that supports DVI input/output, full USB support, and audio support if possible. I've found several products that maintain DVI and USB but apparently don't work with gaming mice and keyboards.

I've exhausted a couple of hours looking for a KVM switch with your requirements. No luck. Either it's not commercially available or it's a especially order only. I'd suggest contacting some of the manufacturers and asking their tech support people if such a scheme is available. Here are the links for Trendnet, D-Link and Belkin:

If you haven't already done so you might want to contact Logitech to see if they have any soup:

Inexpensive way to switch multiple DVI/HDMI sources?

I have the following tellingly theater system of outputs and inputs.

DVD Player - DVI Output
HD Tuner - HDMI Output
Intel iMac - DVI Create

LCD Projector - HDMI Input

Taking into account that I can use cords to convert HDMI to DVI or visa-verse. And sane is handled via TOS link. Is there a sub-$200 way of switching between the sources to the projector? Will a 4 port KVM switch work? Has anyone successfully solved this riddle for a reasonable price?
BioGeek-Thanks, but my tuner has no inputs, just an output. Do not worry about fathom, I had that covered with TOS link as I explained above. I just want to switch between the three sources when I need them and not have to connect or disconnect the cords all the culture.
davidjbergman-Although I am quite content with component input, why would I want to go back in time? I'm please as punch to be prevailing all digital and would like to keep it that way. But thanks for the link. Place looks like a good resource.
Familiarity Seeker-I too am interested in Blue-Ray, but will give it a while. I did follow David's link above and found a good deal on a 3x1 HDMI switch. Since I can interchange HDMI and DVI, I went vanguard and bought one. Will let everyone know how it works.

You can remodel the DVI signals into Component(3 seperate RCA cables). You can purchase the adapters at SEWELLDIRECT.COM for about $20.00 each. RCA typewrite Switches are inexpensive Svideo.com has a high quality one for less than $90.00. Of course you could go to Wal-Mart and buy a $15.00 4 way rca wire switch but it may degrade the picture.

How to switch between VGA and DVI on a LCD monitor when using 2 seperate devices?

Recently I purchased a Acer AL1917W 19" substantial screen LCD monitor that has a VGA port as well as a DVI port on the back. Wanting to play my Xbox360 on my new monitor I bought a Xbox360 VGA wire. Now I have my computer connected to the monitor through the DVI and the Xbox360 connected through VGA. Only one works at a time so I have to unplug a cable depending on which system I hankering to use. What I'd like to know is if anyone knows of a device that would let me switch between VGA and DVI with the press of a button. I've looked all over my keep an eye on and there doesn't appear to be a switch button for this, so is there anything I can do or am I out of luck and forced to manually unplug the one I don't need to use? Thanks in advance!
