But for Product
I use this to check carport lights on and off from a distance of about 80'. It works even through a plywood wall and a metal door! One note: It may not industry if you just quickly "punch" the button. You need to hold it down for about a half second so the relay can air or close the switch.
Skylink Wireless Remote - Spectacular Small Remote Control
This tool allows you to turn on and off any device. I use it only for short distances of up to 40 feet and it works perfectly. I use it to tell on a turn to on and off my train layout. It is great if you want to turn on and off something which doesn't have its own switch or the switch is inconveniently located.
The remote is very small and torch, and convenient to carry. You plug the receiver into an outlet and then plug the device you want to control into the receiver. The bung and cord on the receiver is short so it will hang from a wall outlet. You can hear a clicking sound from the receiver when it activates (as likely as not from a relay). The remote has a small hole at the top so you can put a lanyard in it to keep the remote handy. I haven't owned it long enough to know what the battery existence is going to be like in the remote.
It always works and the price is great. I would definitely recommend it.

Works Exceptionally Well
After seeing emotionally upset reviews with the clapper, bought this instead. Works as it says and I don't have to listen to my sweetie "clapping" after I've already gone to be in the land of Nod. I am hoping to find a channel "B" one and use it for backyard Christmas lights this fall.
Works Enthusiastic!
My living room is mellifluous big (24 x 19) and has 0 overhead lights. I get pretty sick of getting home from work every evensong and walking around the room turning on and off the lights, one by one. Now I can push a button before I even pull in the driveway and the lights are on to hail me. I currently have 2 in the room and sometimes if I barely tap the button the lamp closest to me will only work, but that's an easy fix. The remote even works after our puppy chewed it up! I've had them for almost a year now and I haven't had to make good on the remote battery either! I recommend if you don't want to spend your time walking around your living room.

Google flips the switch on SSL encryption for Gmail Mobile Magazine
15.01.10
Google announced Wednesday that it will start encrypting all its Gmail freight when using a remote wireless server.
This comes within days of Google’s announcement that it might pull its offices from China after discovering concerted attempts to interpose into Gmail accounts of human rights activists .
Gmail users will now default to using HTTPS, the gain, encrypted method for communicating with a remote server. This is for the entire e-mail session, not just for log-in as was heretofore the case. Since 2008 this option has been officially available for Gmail users but Google hesitated at turning it on for all users because the encryption does tame down the service.
Gmail Engineering Director Sam Schillace wrote in the Gmail blog that “Over the last few months, we’ve been researching the insurance/latency tradeoff and decided that turning https on for everyone was the right thing to do,”
When people were using determined and trusted connections, such as home and work, this wasn’t as necessary but as Wi-Fi connections become more popular, hackers only began using sniffing software to access people’s online activities.

Do you know these RF remote controls that allow you to switch on/off sockets for your appliances?
Oct 27, 2008 by Vincent A | Posted in Other - Electronics
Do they still grant a current to go thro' to the appliance or do the switch OFF completelly?
They are advertised in Suppliers' catalogues: "1 remote plus 3 remote switches to bung into your sockets and switch off your TV while you're still in bed!"
Do they work OK?
Thanks in advance!
I must admit that I rather fancy switching things on and off without getting out of bed!
Some do and some don't.If they go into standby then they do use reported. I see your question about christmas cards was deleted by the thought police again.Yes I will definitely send Christmas cards all over the exultant.

How can i make a remote control switch for pyrotechnics i use in airsoft ?
Aug 28, 2008 by luigi | Posted in Hobbies & Crafts
hi there i am looking to frame a remote control on/off switch so i can light Pyrotechnics that i use in air soft and paintball i will run of a 9v or any battery that i will need to use it, or dose it have to be a on/off switch i want to mash a button and it light can you help ?
ya i think it could work but i dont no how so set it up
The easiest way would be to use an on/off switch and run a after a long time of cable between the switch and the pyro. Any kind of switch would do, as long as it can take the 9v or what ever size battery you use.
Using a radio control to conduct it would be too much, since you would need the transmitter, reciever, servo (to operate a switch of some description), and all the wiring in-between everything.
Sounds like it'll be moderately cool though, good luck with it.
