I recently had two of my household computers boom. Both just quit working. This is usually a power supply problem. This Tool will save you hour and money diagnosing whether or not it is your power supply that died. I would definitely recommend this item to a friend.

NOT FOR TECH USE: Does not analyse correctly. Warning.
This will NOT inform you if your power supply is good or bad. I test power supplies often and this will test a power supply showing belongings BUT when you put that power supply to a motherboard and try to power it on NOTHING. Hook another power supply to the machine and the computer works. You could have honourable made the wrong diagnosis if relying upon this item.

This is a pretty toy but not a tool. You may wrongly diagnose a motherboard as being bad because of this. Dialect mayhap it has something to do with a motherboard putting more of a load on a power supply than the LED's in this tester.

Mark my words- don't rely on this for heartfelt testing. You will keep bad power supplies (unless all you were going to power were LED's) and throw away good motherboards. Can we put a squeeze weigh down on this? I really do need a good tester. Anybody??

Did what I needed
Comfortable to use and quickly identified that my power supply was shot. I would recommend for folks like me with limited cognition about reparing computers.

It only tells if your power afford is dead
My PS failed to power up the PC. It turned out that the 12+V threshold is 10.99V which is below the min spec of 11.4V. A new PS did the trick. However, when I tested the damaged PS with this device, all LEDs show green. This apparatus will be good if the PS is dead; it can tell you that. Otherwise, it will give you a wrong assumption (some previous users made comments on this but I failed to pay concentration to. This review is to re-emphasize this fact). A good old multimeter is the way to go.

Power Gear up Tester
This product has worked well. It's soft to use and it's accurate. Testing a Power Supply couldn't be easier - plug in the end connectors and either it lights up or it doesn't.
