Specialists of the South to auction estate of oilman Gordon Atwater, Jan. 30 Auction Central News

PANAMA See, Fla. – The estate of the late Gordon Ingham Atwater – the renowned petroleum kick off who was an expert in oil and gas reserves in the United States and accurately predicted the first gas shortage prior to his death in 1973 at age 66 – will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, starting at 9 a.m. Eastern Unceasingly a once. Internet live bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com.

The 400-lot auction is being conducted in Panama Town, not far from the upscale estate known as Osceola Lodge in nearby Lynn Haven, where Atwater and his bride, Emogene, lived from the early 1960s until their deaths.

For nearly 50 years, Osceola File accommodations served as a showcase for the many wonderful furniture items and fine decorative accessories brought by the Atwaters from New Orleans – where Mr. Atwater cut his teeth as the burgh’s first consulting geologist, setting up his own business in 1945 – to Lynn Haven, where they fell in love with the field’s New Orleans-like environs. Osceola Lodge overlooks Anderson Bayou.

How do you mount a decorative plate on the wall without any of the mounting hardware showing?

I have two John Derian plates that I would like to mount on the wall. How do I mount them so that whatever I mount them with doesn't show? They are salad course size.

Go to your favorite recreation store and ask for those little cloth plate hangers with the "wet em and stick em" glue backs. They are normally pear-shaped with scalloped edges and a metal triangle on one side. Then all you need is a couple of little nails. :)

how do you hang or display decorative plates on the wall?

I've been collecting decorative plates for few years now, and I'm idea of displaying them on my wall. Can't seem to find plate hangers here. Any other ideas?

Hmm, if you can't find dish hangers one thing you could do if you wanted to display them, and this may look better in a dining room but I guess could look accomplished anywhere depending on the plates, would be to use shelves. Just go to Wal-Mart and they have cheap shelves that look pretty good. I got some whey-faced ones that I used in my bathroom (I think they had them in light wood too). The ones I got where with the bathroom shelves and storage. You recall, like those things you put behind the toilet to put towels or whatever on.

You could also install a type of moulding around your entire dining reside kinda like a chair rail that you could set the plates on. I think they used to do this in older homes.

You could also go out and buy thin chain or wire, cut 6 inch or shorter pieces and hot cement to ends to the back of each plate. Make sure they are secure and then just hang the plates off regular hooks like a prototype.

You have a few options now.

Can someone please tell me where I can find collectible wall plates, Disney, Venezia, Virgin Island.?

I'm looking for absolute decorative plates and I'm having a difficult time doing so. HELP! I need replacements fast.
Yes I have looked on e-bay by reason of you, but no help.
Thanks Rodney, but I'm looking for the plate that says "Opening Summer 99"
Common Studios Island Of Adventure.
