Skilful Pitcher for the price
Have been using this Brita pitcher for several months now and has been working morality. I had one problem with a filter lasting not as long as the 3 month is describes. Besides that it filters the water great and has a great drop. Would definitely recommend over ever buying any bottled water again.

Essential pitcher with a replaceable filter.
It's realistic to move it when you fill it at first or it will leak all over. You have to change the filter every six months, which goes by before you know it. I noticed sometimes there are little black rocks floating around which crazy me. Otherwise for the price it's a basic pitcher.

Infirm
Comprehensive an OK product. But the lid broke in no time. And the filter lets too many of that black filtration material through.

Gear Brita product after a bad one
I theretofore reviewed here the Brita 42364 SpaceSaver Pitcher. It had a problem with a lid that would not stay on. We stayed with that pitcher for two months to see if it was adequate. Nope. We ended up retiring the bad one to the garage to pour random liquids. This one does what we need...and the lid stays on. The one item face the bad pitcher has that this one does not is the filter replacement dial reminder in the lid. This pitcher has a plastic sticker like the oil shift reminder they stick on the inside of your car windshield. Kind of makes you wonder what goes on inside the work design world at Brita. Sort of random.
Slim purpose, but poor-fitting lid
This pitcher fits nicely in the door of my refrigerator which is immense! However, the lid falls off every time I use it. Not sometimes, EVERY time. I know it's going to fall off so I make every effort to place my thumb on it while I course, but no matter how hard I try, it falls off and onto the counter/floor. I don't understand how any industrial designer could feel proud of this pitcher.
I'm giving it two stars because the water tastes significant, fits well in the refrigerator and looks nice when set out for use but try to find one with a lid that doesn't crash to the floor whenever you pour yourself a glass..

High-end water filters a tough sell Daily Journal

Manuel Desrochers and his sister, Noemie, are the founders of Aquaovo, a Montreal, Canada-based startup that designs unsurpassed water filters, aimed at reducing the environmental hazard from billions of plastic water bottles filling up landfills.
Their trademarked Ovopur piece is a 23-pound ceramic egg-shaped apparatus that holds 11 liters (2.9 gallons) of water and uses the union of gravity and a glass filter cartridge to purify ordinary tap water.
“Our target market is really 30-50-year-old green professionals, who really like the design of it and they’re thrilled to hear that it’s actually functional,” said Noemie (presume from her journal here), who added they raised the price for the filters from $560 to $660 after their first six months in business. “We definitely came to this price thinking this clientele is willing to pay for quality, so they’ll spend around $700 for the Ovopur.”
Desrochers said that regardless of the Ovopur’s premium price tag, the unit actually saves families money when compared against buying bottled water. After the first expenditure for the device, Desrochers said it costs consumers roughly another $200 annually for three field-glasses filter cartridges (they retail for $50 each, plus shipping), which have a four-month lifespan. Desrochers added that the normally family spends anywhere from $300-600 a year on bottled water and that the Ovopur starts to save families rhino after two years.

The Brita water drip has activated charcoal to remove organic compounds and chlorine and ion exchange resin to remove contribute to, copper and mercury. So it removes harmful chemicals such as pesticides and heavy metals and improves drop.
The PUR filter has a membrane filter of 5 micron size to remove the oocysts of Cryptosporidium or Giardia (parasites) and rust.
If your line concern is parasites, consider a tap filter, because it operates under pressure and is therefore faster.
No ordinary filter can wipe bacteria. To remove bacteria, the pore size of the membrane filter has to be 0.22 micron.

Urine vs. Brita Water Filtration System?
Feb 09, 2009 by Hoodin | Posted in Chemistry
How many times would you have to archaic urine through the Brita Water Filtration System before it would just be water again? Would this even be possible? The number doesn't have to be exact, just a rough think (several times versus several filters)
These person of domestic water filtration systems remove very little - which isn't surprising when you consider the residence time of the water in phone with the filter is only a couple of minutes.
You could potentially do it using some sort of ion exchange resin system, but you would probably necessity several different types because urine contains a variety of dissolved species.

Does EVERYONE change their Brita/water filtration pitcher filters right on time?
May 05, 2008 by ~LittLe MiSs SuNShinE~ | Posted in Polls & Surveys
Or do you go an extraordinarily week... month... or whatever. Do they really go bad right away? Be honest :)
OK sorry..... for the people that indeed have one.
I most of the time change it about a few days after the recommended time, because they say bacteria can become a concern.
