Effortlessly installation and great filter!
Although the element was purchased as used due to an open package, all the necessary parts were included. The installation instructions were settle and concise. Once installed the filter worked very well, eliminating the clorine treated taste from the water. No more bottled water! I due refill my water bottles, take one in the car, and leave a couple cooling in the fridge. Great value!
Excellent FILTER!!!
Purchased this undersink system and had it installed as as part of a cookhouse remodel. AWESOME FILTER! We are on a municipal source that has a strong chlorine taste, and a nasty odor. We are usual to buying lots of bottled water, but not anymore! Since a professional installed the unit, I cannot speak to the ease of placement. However, the item does perform as hoped. It removed the chlorine smell and taste, as well as the other smells from the water. So much more smart than the filters that fit on the end of the facuet, and the price difference is worth the investment. My only complaint is that the little chrome/shapeable faucet may not hold up to heavy use, but that's an easy replacement with a better one should it fail. I would highly recommend this mention.

Superb product for the money!
Tried several other filters, bigger and more extravagant. They work well but upon getting a new sub zero refrig, I was surprised to see there was no filter for the ice maker and water dispenser. The plumber hooked it up to the burgh water. Well the ice was bad tasting and the copper line he used developed pin hole leaks (corrosion from elements in the water) I went on the hunt for a water exclude. I got this one, it uses plastic lines and replaceable cartridges. Right away the water was better tasting and the ice was major as well. They make 4 different levels of filtering depending on what your problem is. I have been using level one, and it is great and the cartridge will last for 3000 gallons. If there is a downside to me it would be the pour rate. This is intended for a refrig/ice makers, don't expect to put out a fire with this. But for coffee and drinking water...this is a great product.

Works eager for us!
I searched the internet for the outwit deal I could find on a drinking water filtration system. I finally settled on this one. It was relatively easy to install - I have basic homeowner prepare skills. It works great - water tastes great. I haven't replaced the filter yet.
It did come with a chintzy plastic faucet. I did opt for another faucet that Amazon recommended. In hind sight, I think I should have used the faucet that came with the coupled. It didn't look that bad and the switch to turn on the water isn't spring loaded. At this point, I don't want to take it apart to try the inventive faucet. Besides, my wife likes it and I learned long ago not to mess with a finished project after is has been "approved."

Much best than the GE version
I purchased the Culligan part to replace a GE undersink water filter I had been using. The GE filters had a very short life. Already I can see that the Culligan product lasts much longer and the water tastes charge. This is a good alternative to purchasing bottled water. It is handy for cooking also. The install is easy IF you have an extra oubliette in your sink. In our case we used the squirter hose hole and have an all in one faucet with the hose built in.

WEIRTON - A new method to parcel out of excess sludge created during the water filtration process in winter could save Weirton a lot of money, according to Utilities Leader Butch Mastrantoni.
On Thursday, Weirton Area Water Board members gave the go-ahead for the Water Deparment to put in up to $7,500 to hire Blue Ridge Technologies of Indiana to remove sludge from one of the water treatment put's clarifiers.
The filtrate built up inside the clarifier is at a higher-than-normal level, Mastrantoni said, because for the first continually, the plant's decant tanks are indoors and running at full strength during winter. However, he noted that cold climate ailing brings "turbid" - or more sediment-heavy than usual - water, which leads to excess sludge.
Morose Ridge's process of sludge disposal involves filter bags, about 35 feet by 10 feet in measure, that fit into roll-off canisters. Like in the normal process, a polymer is added to the sludge to remove all water. But in Lewd Ridge's process, dewatering takes place entirely within the filter bags, which can easily be transported to a landfill in the pitching-off canisters.

No. There are no advantages. Damage - waste of money. The promotion for the units is a steaming pile of male bovine excreta.

Since water is the get the better of solvent known, it is never found pure in nature. Even that coming straight from the water works will carry impurities with it along the way. One shoddy way to purify your drinking water if you live in a temperate climate is to put water in a transparent container (glass or plastic), covering well and expose to direct sunlight for a day or two, depending on intensity of sunlight in that area. Thereafter, use clean linen to trickle off any precipitated impurities, and your water is ready for drinking, after cooling, if you like. The UV in the sunlight kills all bacteria and viruses in the water. It also precipitates other impurities like mineral deposits etc which are away seen and can be filtered off. This is a process that the poorest of the poor can adopt to ensure uncontaminated drinking water.

What is the best water filtration system?
Sep 28, 2007 by Jewel | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
We have harrowing lime and calcium build up - very hard water. We want an entire water softner/filtration system.
Bottled water or attachments for the immerse is not what I am talking about, it needs to be for laundry, showers, drinking, cooking, etc.
Please help!
What you're looking for is termed a "whole-edifice filtration system." The biggest name in that industry, at least in the U.S., is Culligan ("Hey, Culligan man!"). There is some minor living and replenishment involved with those systems but it's worth it.
It makes a big difference when you have hard water: clothes get cleaner with less soap, plumbing works gambler, etc.

What do you know about drinking water filtration systems?
Jan 06, 2009 by Dancin Away | Posted in Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Intrested in getting some classification of water filtration system. Looking at those under the sink reverse osmosis systems. Any brands you recommend? How hard is it to install? Is it something I could put on the honey-do beadroll for my husband to install himself?
I instal these for a living. they are not that difficult to install . and you can connect them to your refrigerator in most cases also. you can buy one from lowe's or lodgings depot that's sufficient. several water treatment companies also sell them, culligan, aqua pure, kenetico, etc. they will connect them for you if you buy theirs. don't buy britta that's a carbon filter it only removes chlorine. Reverse osmosis is the way to go. if you have a metal go you may need to drill a 1 1/4 inch hole for the faucet. hopefully you don't have granite or marble countertops those are much more demanding to drill. or if you have a soap dispenser you can remove it and put your faucet there. you will need to drill a 3/8" trouble high in the drain line under your sink for the r.o waste water to drain to. and you will likely need a 3/8"x3/8"x1/4" T threaded adapter for the support line. the ones from lowe's and home depot have instructions to install, but i recommend you lease a professional if your husband isn't handy with tools.
