Working flawlessly for two years
I had the Rhino EQ-300 installed a duo of years ago and the unit has been working flawlessly ever since. The water taste is excellent. Our water is now odorless. I would recommend this product to anyone wants to make progress their water quality. I follow the manufacturers recommendation to change the pre-unit Filter candles once every 6 months. This does seem unavoidable as there is quite a bit of muck that gets trapped by the pre-filter candles. Make sure you have spare o-rings and silicon grease when you buy the item. Check to ensure that the pre-unit's filter housing's o-ring properly installed or else you could end up with a leak. My element runs perfectly dry and drip free. While replacing the filter candles (every 6 months), you would need to muse off the inlet valve and turn on an the taps in you home ( only cold water taps!!) to empty the water pipes or else the back-force will prevent you from opening the filter unit. Even if you did manage to open it, you could end up with very wet floors! The unit is installed in my garage where my out-and-out water inlet was accessible. You may need to replace your pressure main valve just to ensure the input water adversity is not too high. You could loose some water pressure in your showers when you install the unit.

Frightening
this should be installed in every make clear. altho care must be taken when assembling the plastic fittings (use plenty of teflon thread video) to prevent leaking, once installed it is the best tasteless, colorless, oderless water i have ever poured into my gullet. no more itchiness when i dispatch showering. i had the water tested for chlorine a week after it was installed and the test showed zero parts per million. a celebrated improvement would be to include all brass fittings, i would have gladly paid a bit more for them. overall i am quite happy with the water grade and would reccomend this unit to anyone even slighty concerned about the the inherent problems of bottled H2O.

considerable system for anyone with sensitive skin
My husband and I tried everything to remedy our newborn's eczema. After spending much time and money on lotions, creams and medications, we decided to cipher out the root cause of eczzema/extremely dry and irritated skin. To make a long story exclusive of we called the water company and found out that amount of chlorine put in our water was at the highest levels deemed to be safe. We then started researching whole house water filtration systems and clear that the aquasana rhino was the one for us. Within a week of installation our son's skin cleared up entirely!!! We were elated, and bottom side up at the same time to realize what was actually a loud to be put into our drinking water. We love the aquasana rhino!! The water taste breathtaking and the whole family has noticed differences in thier skin and hair from making the switch. It seems like such a diminutive price to pay for such a huge investment in you and your families health.

A: Before you initiate any filtering system, have your water tested by a licensed professional to make sure it's safe to drink and wash with. If you're on a megalopolis water system, your utility can help you out with this. Once it's determined that the overall water quality is acceptable, then you can look into installing a basic water-filtering system.
Water-exclude systems for a home can be as simple as installing a small filter on the spout of a kitchen faucet or as involved as cutting into the main water line and installing a whole-house filtering system.
For your system and needs, you may want to look for something in the middle, like a beverage faucet. A beverage faucet is basically a diminutive faucet set aside for drinking water only, mounted on a kitchen sink or countertop next to your primary kitchen faucet. A established-quality beverage-faucet kit can include the piping, fittings and "under sink" filter cartridge needed for station. Installation is fairly easy to hook up since it's installed right at the kitchen-sink area, and it uses only unemotional water. You need to have a hole available in the sink or countertop to install the above-deck faucet unit. You can have your countertop professionally drilled for the appropriate-sized hole or change around your present kitchen-faucet setup to create an open crater on the sink itself.

Whole house water filtration - experiences?
Aug 13, 2007 by raindreamer | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
My parents moved into a townhouse community a while ago, and when I've gone to look in on, I've found they have a lot of water problems. Aside from the pressure being low, which is merely an inconvenience, the water tastes and smells dirty and very suspect. Cooking with it alters the taste of meals, and using one or two blocks of ice ruins a whole drink. Sometimes even the dishes and clothes have a ignore odour after being washed. Occasionally I've turned on the tap to see the water coming out brown, enough that the sinks have to be scrubbed to rub off residue. The townhouse community was only built about 5 years ago, and it all runs the local water supply.
I've installed water purification on the taps, but I've recently discovered that it's on to buy whole house filtration systems. I have no idea how to go about researching these. Does anyone have experience with them? How are they, cost-wise? Are they worth the investment? Do they command a lot of construction, maintenance, etc?
Any other opinions or advice about finding out why the water is so problematic, dealing with the problems, and/or water filtration would be appreciated.
yes whole house filtration is plausible a water test is recommended to find whats wrong.usually supplys that serve more then 10 people or so reequire chlorine to disenfect water but if thats not the patient here you can try a few things that will improve the quality thruout the house .a large carbon tank 2 cubic feet and make restitution for it yearly cost could be about 300-500 a year.if thats not enough then there are some systems that are fairly costly but will work like a whole house antithesis osmossis with ozone being injected ,break out the check book for this one and keep a spare room for someone to maintain it lol
